Candy Bar Wrapper Project

*Assignment: Part 1*

Candy Bar Wrapper Template - (Full Sized Hershey Bar)

Before you start, view the video on creating a template for a customized candy bar wrapper.

(This video uses a previous version of Publisher instead of the one we currently use at North Star so keep that in mind as you are setting up your guides, etc.)
  1. Open up Publisher. You will be using a regular sized 8.5" x 11" paper, creating two candy bar wrappers on each page.
  2. In your Publisher document, set your page magins to 0.
  3. In the Publisher document, set a guide at .5" on the left side of the page. This will insure that your wrapper will print completely.
  4. A Hershey Bar is the candy bar that will be used for this project. Carefully, measure the length & width of candy bar without removing the wrapper.
  5. Add guides in your Publisher document to create an area which will coincide with your wrapper measurements. (Add the .5 space fromt he guide you set in Step 3).
  6. Draw a rectangle shape the size of the wrapper by using the guides you created in Step 6.
  7. Take the wrapper and measure the front and also the back flaps that are glued together.
  8. Add horizontal guides for the front & back flaps to your Publisher document (You will need to do the 'math' when you add the guies to the bottom-half of your Publisher document.)
10. Save as a Publisher Template with the file name: Hershey Bar Wrapper Template

Your document will look something like this:
